At last, something interesting to tell you about!
It’s the height of summer 2026, work is quiet and it doesn’t look like there’s many trips on the horizon. But in the space of one week I’ve just booked three separate trips for autumn/winter. And one of them is going to be a quite interesting set of flights. The first trip I’ve booked is a short holiday with my partner for a long weekend in Zürich, naturally flying on Swiss and in business class. Next in November, I need to go to Germany, flying into Berlin. The only direct route, that’s on Star Alliance, is to fly with Eurowings. I did not realise that I would still earn all my points flying with Eurowings, I had assumed that since they were a budget arm of Lufthansa that there’d be no points involved. A bit like flying on Vueling, which is owned by the same company as British Airways and Iberia, doesn’t get you points as it’s a budget airline. But I was wrong, I can earn points, so it’ll be a new airline for me to try out for you.
The most exciting thing to report is that I’ve booked my trip to Las Vegas in December. This is my annual pilgrimage to a tradeshow that a lot of people go to and it’s the last one this year that’s going to be held in Vegas. It’s moving to New Orleans in October next year. So, I thought one last exciting trip with quite a few extras to make the trip a lot more fun this time.
As well as this, I’m still hoping to get another trip or two in before the end of the year, maybe even a return to the middle east!
I will do a quick trip report on Zürich, probably not a lot of interesting things to say there as it will be all things I’ve done before, flying from Gatwick and going to the very nice Clubrooms lounge.
