About me

As you probably guessed my name is Chris and I really enjoy flying. I think flying must be in my blood, my father was pilot in the RAF and then a commercial pilot in later life. I did have some amazing experiences where he was able to take me along with him on the odd occasion. He would tell you that I could identify many aircraft in the air long before I could actually talk properly about anything else.

My passion for commercial flying really developed when I got a taste for it through a job that allowed me to fly around the world. If you’ve watched the film ‘Up in the air’, then the opening lines probably describe me quite well, I love going through airports, experience in the lounge and all of the facilities the airports have to offer and the actual experience of flying to somewhere. Unlike George Clooney’s character, Ryan Bingham, I do very much enjoy my home and family life, but I also very much enjoy the places I get to visit, I tend to make the most of my time while I’m away so I get to see as much as possible.

A few years ago a friend of mine asked me to start writing down my flying experiences. He had realised that I had acquired a huge wealth of knowledge about the tricks of the trade when it comes to being a frequent flyer passenger. He was building his own blog site and my articles were going to be posted there, his site didn’t last long and I didn’t want all that work to go to waste so I started my own site. I enjoy recalling my trips writing about things I’ve learned I hope that you enjoy it reading about them and maybe pick up a few tricks and tips along the way as well.

If you want to know how I got started, then start with my 4 part blog on my first experiences of frequent flying and some of my more memorable trips, read about them here.
